For some people, the Fullerton Loop is the perfect training ride. Having the ability to connect to other trails is a plus. Some of the best trails are also dog friendly.

On a recent ride, I noticed a lot of changes. The switchbacks were in excellent condition. However, the full-length loop was a little dry and the trail was super tacky.

The other big improvement was the new 10-acre cycling skills site at the Ted Craig Regional Park. The county is already giving tens of thousands of dollars for the bike park. Several high school mountain biking teams are springing up.

You can also take a shorter route by going straight up Valley View Dr. From there, you can get on the Hiltscher Trail and then head south. These options will take you past the courthouse.

If you have a GPS, you can download a map to use in navigating the loop. It is very well marked. However, you may need to follow a map to reach some of the trail’s side trails.
